Dr. Jordyn Boesch will discuss strategies, from systemic medications to advanced regional anesthetic techniques used to manage acute pain in horses

Dr. Jordyn Boesch is an associate professor of anesthesiology and pain medicine in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Cornell. She is also an adjunct associate professor at New York University, where she collaborated on research on the neurobiology of pain. She established the multidisciplinary, collaborative Cornell University comparative pain program to further clinical service, research, and education in pain management.
When on duty in the equine hospital, she leads a team of staff in the provision of anesthesia and analgesia to equine patients, including continuous infusion of analgesic medications, epidural injection/ catheterization, peripheral nerve blocks, and neurolytic procedures. She also coordinates an elective course for third-year veterinary students entitled Animal Pain.
